Sepia, gold leaf and stainless steel are the main ingredients for this new little series. Yes I used poured resin again – Why? Because imho it gives such a rich luscious look to most works. It also makes the piece look finished and professional somehow! What do you think? Have you tried poured resin yet? I will soon post all the things you need to resin yourself along with the type of resin I use – so stay tuned if that is of interest to you.
I like to create minimalistic pieces that seem quite simple and clean looking and I love a lot of white. I like the modern look and the white is very striking.
I add gold leaf because it looks incredible under the resin. The resin brings it to life and with the changing light in a room the piece looks different depending on the time of day and the way the light is reflecting on the piece.
Finally here is a photo of the four of them hung together. They are 2.5″ in depth so although small in size they still make quite a statement because of their deep museum profile. I hope you enjoy this little series. Please do connect with me in the comments section. I love to hear about you, your collections, your art, your process and what art means to you.
