Getting Ready for My Upcoming Solo Show at Venus Galleries

Happy New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU

Wishing you a year full of love, joy, health and color

and lots of original art!!!

As we welcome a new fresh year with the energy of new beginnings I am excited and inspired to be working hard getting ready for my solo show at Venus Galleries in Palm Desert, California, USA on Feb 6.  To view an Evite please click on this link www.VanessaKatzArt.com/link/GalleryShow

I have been doing lots of pieces finished with poured resin and creating lots of heart paintings as the Gallery owner, Debra Mumm, requested hearts as the opening of the show falls just before Valentines Day.

I absolutely adore hearts however I did not realize how popular they are.  Four heart canvases have been sold just from posting them on my Facebook page and it seems as fast as I paint them for the show, they are sold – not a bad challenge to have!!  I am so grateful and will just have to create and paint more for the show!

Heartfelt No. 68 that you see above is now resined.  I used a photo of this before I resined it for the “Happy New Year” message you see at the opening of this post.  Quite a difference, don’t you think?

Whilst creating heart paintings, this abstract landscape appeared and it was not appropriate to add any hearts as this piece wanted to be something different!!  I like to let the paintings organically evolve as I am painting.

And finally for now, Heartfelt No. 780, has the most vivid yet delicate colors that shine under the resin.  Lots of layers as you can see.  Yes there is the glassy reflection of a tree showing in this photo, which obviously is not in the painting! however that is how you get to see the resin effect.  It is very challenging photographing resin pieces – if you manage to get no reflections (almost impossible) then you cannot see the resin.  Also if I worried too much about the photos, I would not get them up for you to see.

Again wishing you the happiest year.  Thanks for being here and taking the time to view my work.  I sincerely appreciate your ongoing support.

Most of my new pieces will not be on my website yet as I will not be releasing them until the opening of my show.  Gotta have some surprises – right!!
